Alfie is a Golden Retriever puppy, who came to us to be fostered when he needed a helping hand.
Alfie was diagnosed with a very rare and complicated heart condition, which was killing him. His former owners could not afford Alfie’s vets bills, and that’s where we came in.
The estimated costs involved to save Alfie’s life was £3000. Thanks to the amazing generosity and kindness of a LOT of wonderful people, the money was raised in just 3 weeks, and we could go ahead and book Alfie in for his life-saving heart surgery with Liverpool University.
Alfie’s groundbreaking heart surgery was performed on 22nd July and so far so good, he is doing very well and it seems to have been a success.
Understandably, once Alfie had been through all this we have decided to keep him as a permanent member of the Ruffdogs family.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to Alfie’s ever growing fan club - his blog will continue to be updated throughout his life so please keep checking in!
